This is a handspun cake of 100% Shetland wool from Lachlan. Lachlan was a dual coated black 2020 ram. He was one of our first Shetlands in 2020. He was our #2 ram but after our first year breeding he and Hamish, being the same age and roughly the same size, challenged each other too much. His temperment wasn’t a good fit for our small flock, so after shearing he was harvested, and provided our family with many holiday suppers.

His fleece has a medium staple length and medium micron count and spun up to a warm brown black.

This is handspun 2 ply DK to heavy weight . I have several cakes of various weights and yardage available.

Minimally processed, by a local mill and spun at home. We do not coat our sheep so, this yarn may have a ‘bit’ of vegetable matter, guaranteeing to you our commitment to the most natural yarn we can produce with the lowest carbon footprint.
